Tornado Video Classics I
is the first chapter in this "video textbook" about
tornadoes. It has 71 different tornadoes
, as well as dust devils, waterspouts, and fire whirls.
It explores the formation of suction vortices in laboratory
models, then finds their couterparts in
actual tornadoes. During one intense scene, a television
crew and a family huddle for five minutes
under a highway underpass while a tornado passes
directly closeby. In another, a scientist risks his life trying
to shoot a rocket
into a tornado, all the while piloting a small aircraft.
The video has live sound, is professionally produced, and is
fully narrated.
The original version is a full two hours long
. $29 includes cassette, viewers guide,
and shipping in the US(additional charge for shipping
elsewhere). The 50 page viewer's guide
is keyed to each scene so you can "read
more about it" later on.
The catalog version costs $24, is 90 minutes long, and
