The answers to the "Name That Twister"quiz are:
- John's ex-girlfriend is standing in front of a tornado image made up of a mix of the Andover, Kansas tornado and the Ash Valley, Kansas tornado.
- John's dad is watching "a variation of" the Clearwater, Kansas tornado, of May 16, 1991, as shot by Jon Davies.
- The Cordell, Oklahoma tornado was the inspiration for this painting. The original video has a much redder, dustier, ropier look to it, but with that characteristic graceful shape.
- This painting uses a both the Andover tornado mixed with the Cheyenne, Wyoming tornado of 1979 as the subject. Although TVC I has a video of both of these tornadoes, the Cheyenne tornado is the one photographed 15 years ago.
- Carson Eads' and Gene Rhoden's tape of the Gainesville, Texas tornado in 1974 was the model here. It is on TVC III, but it is not as distinct as on the painting.
- Tornado painting #6 is not in the test. It is a kind of "self portrait" with a "made up twister" in a "made up place." John is in the foreground, coming towards the viewer and away from the tornado. Tom thinks it looks a little like Dimmit, Texas, but the painting was done before June 2, 1995. Perhaps John is psychic. Email us if you have another idea.

- The Andover, Kansas tornado is shown in TVC I, #61f and #61h. The Ash Valley tornado is shown in TVC I, #27, and TVC II, #16 keyed to the guide.
- The Clearwater, Kansas tornado is shown in both TVC II and TVC III. In TVC II, the video was taken by Jon Davies, and is #53a keyed to the guide. TVC III has a different view, by Tim Marshall.
- The Cordell, Oklahoma tornado is shown in TVC I, #42 keyed to the guide.
- The Andover, Kansas tornado is shown in TVC I, where it is #61f and #61h keyed to the guide. TVC III has a different and even more spectacular view, 6 minutes and 50 seconds into the program, and on the top 20 home video countdown. The Cheyenne, Wyoming tornado is shown in TVC I, where it is #11 keyed to the guide.
- The Gainesville, Texas tornado is on the top twenty chase video countdown on TVC III.
In some cases, the tornadoes in John's paintings do not look exactly like those in the videos because we may have selected clips from a different stage in the life cycle or a different part of the track than did John. OH, and we didn't use "poetic license"! The paintings that most resemble the video clips are Ash Valley(#1), Cordell(#3), and Andover(#4)
