Browse as much as you like in the non-secure part of the store!
When you actually order an item, and security is then an issue, you will be transferred to the secure area of the store.
How can you tell if the ordering page is secure? If you are using Netscape, look at the "lock" that is on the navigation bar and on the left side of the status bar. When you are in a non-secure part of a site, the lock is open...and when you enter the secure area, the lock closes.
You will notice the "lock" close on your browser when you go to the page where you enter credit card information.
