Is your shelter made to be installed above ground level, fully below ground level, or only partially buried? Fully below.
What material is your shelter made of and how thick is it? Polyethelene, thickness varies and not relevant since the shelter is below ground.
What is the length, width, and height of the shelters that you sell? 110" x 55" x 78"
Do you enter the shelter while still in the home, or do you leave the home and enter the shelter from the outside? Leave home.
How does one access the shelter? Through a 24" diameter stainless steel manway.
How does your shelter provide fresh air? Two vents, one a turbine
How is the shelter anchored in the ground? Concrete and dirt.
Was it designed to be installed when a home is first being built, or is it installed on the lot of a finished house? Either way
How is the shelter delivered, and by who? Commercial carrier or a distributor.
Who installs it? Any experienced excavator can, or a distributor.
Is any heavy equipment needed to install the unit? A small backhoe.
What kind of issues with shelter installation are you and your customers most likely to run into in your area(bedrock, high water table, frozen ground etc.)? Bedrock is a problem with all shelter installations. High water requires additional anchoring. Freezing ground not a problem
What provision has been made in case the entrance/exit is blocked by a fallen tree or debris? Call 911 from cell phone or patiently wait until uncovered
Is there a second exit in the unit? No.
Can the entrance door be locked? Yes.
Do you have any handicapped-accessible units? Yes...lower them in!
What provision has been made for seating, lighting, or storage? Two full length benchs, battery powered lights, storage under benches and in ends.
Are these items included in the base price or are they extra? Included
Are there other accessories and options that are available? If so, what are they? NA
What is the typical cost both uninstalled and installed? $2300 to $3000 with delivery.
Do you have a warranty, and if so, for how long and what does it cover? 20 years against leakage.
Has your shelter undergone any kind of testing by engineers? Yes. 10000 pounds placed on top in the unburied state (I'm an engineer by the way!)
What else do you think we should know about your shelter? It is the best/safest buy for the money.
