Is your shelter made to be installed above ground level, fully below ground level, or only partially buried?
What material is your shelter made of and how thick is it? fiberglass
What is the length, width, and height of the shelters that you sell? 11' X 8' X 7'
Do you enter the shelter while still in the home, or do you leave the home and enter the shelter from the outside? For safety reasons, our engineers recommend an entry installation location well clear / outside of the actual house structure.
How does one access the shelter?
How does your shelter provide fresh air? We have a triple ventilation system.
How is the shelter anchored in the ground? By a weighted perimeter flange system.
Was it designed to be installed when a home is first being built, or is it installed on the lot of a finished house? It may be installed before or after home construction is finished, depending on desired application.
How is the shelter delivered, and by who? If no local dealer exists, it can be shipped directly to the customer's site.
Who installs it? Installation and any subcontractors are handled through local dealers.
Is any heavy equipment needed to install the unit? A backhoe.
What kind of issues with shelter installation are you and your customers most likely to run into in your area(bedrock, high water table, frozen ground etc.)? Our base below ground unit can be installed virtually anywhere. Applications vary with local conditions.
What provision has been made in case the entrance/exit is blocked by a fallen tree or debris? Our Passover Storm Shelter Manufacturing Company Rescue Crew will be dispatched to the site of any tornado within 12 hours, for the purpose of verifying the safety and/or extraction of any family who installs one of our units.
Is there a second exit in the unit?
Can the entrance door be locked? Our 2 piece fiberglass stay-put entry door has four ½ inch interior dead bolts
Do you have any handicapped-accessible units? No handicap units at this time, but we are developing below-ground units for both wheel chairs and large animal farms.
What provision has been made for seating, lighting, or storage? Standard unit has battery lighting, seats 10 and a portable toilet location.
Are these items included in the base price or are they extra? Included.
Are there other accessories and options that are available? If so, what are they?
What is the typical cost both uninstalled and installed? Typical cost is between $3,500 and $5,500 based upon regional conditions and shipping.
Do you have a warranty, and if so, for how long and what does it cover? There is a 6 year materials warranty.
Has your shelter undergone any kind of testing by engineers?
What else do you think we should know about your shelter? Passover Storm Shelters also meets and exceeds Storm Shelter criteria set forth by FEMA and The Uniform Building Codes and Passover President and CEO Timothy S. Norwood, graduate of Texas Tech University College of Architecture, has participated extensively in wind research.
